Skatepark Press Release April 2025
Thanks to Section 106 funding, the Parish Council is excited to announce it is moving forward with one of the projects highlighted in its Business Plan[ii]. After some initial online consultation with the local community in August 2024, the Parish Council resolved at its February full council meeting to take forward the replacement of the old skatepark with a new state of the art, modern, spray concrete skatepark at Spital Park playing field. It will become part of the whole offer available on site and will be aesthetically please, safe and accessible for ages and experiences. CANVAS Spaces Ltd has been awarded the contract to deliver the whole project, including all consultation with the user's groups, young people and the local community with a launch date for the new skatepark of late summer. Please head over to the Parish Council[iii]and CANVAS Spaces Ltd[iv]websites for further information and details on how you make comments and have your input on the evolving concept design.
Section 106 funding is money secured from a legal development in relation to planning gain for new housing developments.
